Ashleigh Parker — Trailblazer in Justice and Community Impact

We proudly spotlight Ashleigh Parker, a legal powerhouse whose distinguished career is marked by leadership, innovation, and service. As Chair of the NC State Bar Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee and a current North Carolina State Bar Councilor, she has shaped legal education across the state. Her leadership extends into the community as the former President of the NCCU Law Alumni Association and the first African American female—and youngest—to serve as President of both the Wake County Bar Association and the 10th Judicial District Bar.

Ashleigh’s passion for access and equity is evident through her co-founding of the Capital City Lawyers’ Association Law Day Program, which has engaged over 1,200 minority students, and the Wake County Legal Support Center, which provides free legal resources for self-represented individuals in housing and domestic matters.

Among her numerous accolades are the 2025 Judith Kaye Award for Judicial Excellence, the 2024 Chief Justice’s Professionalism Award (youngest recipient), and recognition as a Triangle Business Journal “Leader in Diversity”. She has also been honored as Citizen of the Year by Omega Psi Phi (Xi Mu Mu Chapter) and as a Leader in the Law by NC Lawyers’ Weekly.

“Life is not a straight line to the bench—it’s full of twists, turns, peaks, and valleys. Keep striving, keep God first, and stay committed to making a difference. Every experience is shaping you to lead with purpose, compassion, and integrity.”
